Treadmills for Commercial, Light Commercial and Home Gyms
The treadmill is the most popular cardio machine for good reason. It suits every ability, from a gentle walk to a hard interval session, and it needs no coaching. The challenge is choosing the right one, because a treadmill built for a busy leisure centre is a very different machine from one designed for a spare bedroom. Matching the machine to how it will be used is the key to getting good value and a long working life.
At UK Gym Equipment, we supply treadmills across the full range of use, from heavy-duty machines for public gyms through to compact folding models for the home. We work with recognised manufacturers, alongside our own Future range, and you can choose from new and ex-demo equipment, so you can match your budget without compromising on quality.
Which Type of Treadmill Do You Need?
Commercial treadmills: Built for constant, all-day use in gyms, leisure centres, hotels and studios. They have powerful motors, heavy frames, large belts and robust decks designed to last for years of heavy daily running.
Light commercial treadmills: A good fit for moderate use, such as small gyms, offices, residential developments and hotels. They are sturdier than domestic machines at a lower price than full commercial models.
Folding home treadmills: Space-saving machines for home gyms, where the deck folds up after use. Ideal for spare rooms, garages and multi-purpose spaces.
Why Choose a Treadmill?
Suits everyone: Walking, jogging and running at any speed, so beginners and serious runners can both use the same machine.
Easy to use: Simple controls and programmes mean members can start straight away.
Adjustable intensity: Speed and incline let users tailor each session to their goals.
Cushioned comfort: Decks designed to absorb impact reduce stress on the joints compared with running outdoors.
Options for every budget: From great-value ex-demo commercial machines to compact home models.
Choosing the Right Treadmill
Think about who will use the treadmill, how often and for how long. For commercial settings, check the continuous duty motor rating rather than peak power, along with the belt size, maximum user weight and speed and incline range. A longer, wider belt suits taller users and running, while a shorter belt is fine for walking. For home use, consider the folded dimensions as well as the in-use footprint, and measure doorways, stairs and ceiling height before you buy. Look at deck cushioning and console features such as programmes, screens and connectivity. If a treadmill will be used heavily or by many people each day, make sure it is rated for light commercial or full commercial use rather than domestic only.
